The Borger Economic Development Corporation provides financial incentives to industries within the community, the state, and to businesses nationwide seeking expansion to this outstanding community. All incentive offers are evaluated on their own merits and are subject to approval by the Borger, Inc. Board of Directors and, in certain instances, the Borger City Council. Approval is contingent upon the feasibility of the project, capital investment, job creation, and overall benefit to the community.
Overview
- Borger, Inc. is a Type A Economic Development Corporation that receives approximately $1 million annually to fund development activities.
- Borger, Inc. regularly provides financial assistance, in form of grants or loans, to companies that locate in our community.
- Through Frank Phillips College, Borger, Inc. offers job training to companies that require on-site or off-site training for their employees.
- Panhandle Workforce Solutions staff is available to work closely with companies to recruit employees for their operations in Borger. This service is available at no cost to you.
- We can provide infrastructure development assistance, meaning cash incentives for improvements such as roads, buildings, parking areas, and more.
- Borger, Inc. owns land at the Borger Business Park and has constructed water and sewer lines to develop the Borger Business Park for new projects. Land can be discounted, and in some cases granted, to a business as an incentive to locate to Borger.
- Finally, the City of Borger can provide additional incentives through a Chapter 380 agreements.
