Borger is located 15 minutes from Lake Meredith National Recreation Area. The Lake Meredith National Recreation Area features over 1,400,000 acre feet of water, with 110 miles of shoreline. Water sports, camping, boating, scuba diving, sailing, and fishing are available. Lake Meredith features the finest Walleye fishing in the state. Numerous fishing tournaments, sailing regattas, and other events take place at the lake. The Marina at Lake Meredith features slip rentals, boat rentals, a store, and a heated fishing area. Hunting is also plentiful for a wide variety of game. The area is especially well known for its pheasant hunting, but Area game includes geese, ducks, quail, dove, turkey, and deer.. Other recreational activities include: the Alibates Flint Quarries and Ruins, hiking in breathtaking Palo Duro Canyon, visiting the Lake Meredith Aquatic and Wildlife Museum in Fritch, the historic McCormick house, and the Plemons-Stinnett-Phillips school Heritage Center both in Stinnett and much more.

The Borger Community Activity Center, on the campus of Frank Phillips College, has an Olympic size pool, five racquetball courts, wood floor aerobics room, nautilus equipment, free weights, saunas, whirlpools, and a full size gymnasium. The BCAC offers aerobics classes, water aerobics classes, and swimming lessons (during the summer months). This provided a well balanced and safe activity center for both young and old. The BCAC also houses Frank Phillips College volleyball court and basketball court, which provides a great opportunity for families to come and support local athletes.
The Borger Country Club offers memberships to residents and business in the Borger area. The country club offers banquet rooms, dinners, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and an 18-hole golf course.
